Edfundo Terms and Conditions v 2.1
Edfundo Website & App – General Terms and Conditions (v2.1)
Effective date: 8/10/2025
These General Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Edfundo website located at edfundo.com and any related sub-domains (the “Site”), and the Edfundo mobile application(s) (the “App”) provided by Edfundo Tech Limited, a company incorporated in the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), Dubai, United Arab Emirates (“Edfundo”, “we”, “us”, or “our”).
By accessing or using the Site or App, creating an account, or clicking “accept”, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Site or App.
Important: These Terms cover the Site and App only. Prepaid cards, accounts, loading, ATM use, and payment transactions are governed by the separate Cardholder Terms & Conditions and Key Fact Statement (KFS) issued by NymCard Payment Services LLC and provided in-app or on request. If these Terms conflict with our Cardholder Terms, the Cardholder Terms prevail for card/payment matters.

2.1 These Terms govern browsing, registering, and using features of the Site and App (including parent dashboards, controls, learning content, notifications, non-payment features, and any subscription management screens).
2.2 Card & payment features (loading, spending, ATM, foreign exchange, card replacement, disputes, etc.) are not governed here and instead are governed by:
- Cardholder Terms & Conditions (NymCard) and
- Key Fact Statement (KFS).
2.3 Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect and process personal data.
- Eligibility; parent & child structure
3.1 Parent Accounts. You must be 18+, a legal UAE resident, and hold a valid Emirates ID to create an Edfundo Parent Account.
3.2 Child Profiles. Parents may create and manage Child Accounts for children under 18 who are UAE residents with Emirates ID. Parents are responsible for: (a) obtaining all required consents; (b) supervising use; and (c) teaching safe and responsible use of the App.
3.3 You confirm that all information supplied during onboarding and later updates is accurate and complete.
- Your Edfundo account
4.1 You must keep your login credentials (including passcodes, 2FA, and device PIN/biometrics) confidential and secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account.
4.2 You must notify us immediately at help@edfundo.com if you suspect unauthorised access, account compromise, or device loss.
4.3 We may (a) refuse registration, (b) suspend or terminate accounts for breach or security risks, or (c) require re-verification at any time.
- Subscriptions & billing (App Membership)
5.1 Edfundo may offer subscription memberships (for example, a family plan covering up to five children) billed monthly or annually in advance. Pricing and inclusions are shown in-app or on the Site and may change in accordance with Section 16 (Changes).
5.2 Unless stated otherwise, membership fees are non-refundable once a billing period begins, subject to any mandatory consumer rights.
5.3 You authorise us (and our payment partners) to store and charge the payment method you provide for recurring fees until you cancel.
5.4 You may cancel in the App (Profile → My Subscription → Cancel) or by emailing help@edfundo.com. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period unless otherwise specified.
5.5 Any cardholder-related fees (e.g., ATM, FX, replacement card) are governed by the Cardholder Terms/KFS, not these Terms.
- Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Site/App unlawfully, fraudulently, to harass others, or in violation of applicable laws (including AML/CFT, sanctions, and data protection laws);
- circumvent security, probe or scan systems, introduce malware, or disrupt service;

- upload or share content that is illegal, harmful to minors, defamatory, obscene, infringing, or otherwise objectionable;
- use the App to facilitate purchases or services that are prohibited for minors or violate our policies or applicable Merchant Category Code restrictions (noting that payment enforcement is covered by Cardholder Terms).
We may suspend or remove content or access that we reasonably believe breaches these Terms or applicable law.
- User content & feedback
7.1 You may upload or submit content (e.g., profile names, photos, budgets, tasks, notes). You retain ownership of your content but grant Edfundo a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to use, host, store, reproduce, and display it solely to operate and improve the Site/App and provide requested services.
7.2 You represent that you have the necessary rights and permissions to upload and share such content (including content relating to your child).
7.3 You can send ideas, suggestions, or feedback; we may use them without obligation to you.
- Educational content & parental controls
8.1 The App includes configurable parental controls. These tools support, but do not replace, parental supervision and financial responsibility education.
8.2 Edfundo does not guarantee learning outcomes or behavioural results and is not responsible for your child’s spending choices (see Cardholder Terms for payment controls).
- Software; updates; third-party services
9.1 We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the App on devices you own or control, solely for personal, non-commercial use, in accordance with these Terms.
9.2 We may auto-update the App. Some updates may be required to continue use. Features may change or be discontinued.
9.3 The Site/App may link to or integrate with third-party services (e.g., app stores, analytics, customer support). We are not responsible for third-party terms, privacy practices, or content.
9.4 App Store Terms. If you downloaded via Apple App Store or Google Play, you also agree to their usage rules. Apple/Google are not responsible for support or legal claims regarding the App.
- Intellectual property
The Site, App, content, education modules, graphics, logos, and underlying software are protected by IP laws and remain the property of Edfundo and/or licensors. Except for the limited licence in Section 9, no rights are granted. Do not copy, modify, reverse engineer, or create derivative works, except as permitted by law.
- Privacy & data protection
11.1 Our Privacy Policy (available on the Site/App) explains how we collect, use, share, and protect personal data, including child data, and your rights.
11.2 You consent to receiving service communications (e.g., security, policy, billing, or important product notices). You can manage marketing preferences separately.
11.3 You must ensure that any personal data you provide (including child data) is accurate and that you are authorised to provide it.
- Service availability & support
12.1 We aim to keep the Site/App available 24/7 but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may suspend, limit, or modify access for maintenance, updates, or security reasons.
12.2 For help, contact help@edfundo.com. For card and payment issues, please refer to the Cardholder Terms/KFS and contact channels stated there.
- Beta features
We may offer experimental or “beta” features. They are provided as-is, may be modified or removed at any time, and may have different availability, reliability, or support.
- Term; termination
14.1 These Terms apply from your first use of the Site/App and continue until terminated.
14.2 You may stop using the Site/App at any time and may cancel subscriptions per Section 5.
14.3 We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms, create risk, or where required by law.
14.4 Termination of the App or your Edfundo account does not automatically terminate or affect card accounts—please follow the Cardholder Terms for card/account closure and redemptions.
- Disclaimers
15.1 The Site/App (and any content) are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
15.2 Edfundo does not provide financial, investment, legal, tax, or accounting advice. Educational content is for information only.
15.3 We do not control or guarantee: (a) third-party services or links; (b) outcomes of parental controls; or (c) uninterrupted, secure access.
- Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Edfundo and its officers, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, loss of profits, revenues, data, goodwill, or business interruption, arising from or related to your use of (or inability to use) the Site/App.
Where liability cannot be excluded, our total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the Site/App shall not exceed the greater of AED 500 or the amounts you paid to Edfundo for App subscriptions in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
- Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Edfundo from and against all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your: (a) breach of these Terms; (b) misuse of the Site/App; (c) violation of law or third-party rights; or (d) content you provide.
- Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will post the revised Terms on the Site/App and update the effective date above. If changes are material, we will provide reasonable advance notice (e.g., in-app message or email). Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
- Governing law & jurisdiction
These Terms and any non-contractual obligations arising out of or in connection with them are governed by the laws of the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC). The courts of the DIFC shall have non-exclusive jurisdiction. If you reside outside the UAE, mandatory consumer protections in your place of residence may also apply.
- Complaints & consumer rights
20.1 If you have concerns about the Site/App, contact help@edfundo.com.
20.2 Card/payment complaints should be raised per the Cardholder Terms/KFS (including escalation to the Central Bank of the UAE Ombudsman Unit (Sanadak) where applicable).
- Miscellaneous
21.1 Entire agreement. These Terms (plus the Privacy Policy and any feature-specific notices) form the entire agreement for Site/App use. Card features remain subject to the Cardholder Terms/KFS.
21.2 Assignment. You may not assign these Terms. We may assign or transfer our rights/obligations to an affiliate or successor.
21.3 Severability. If any provision is invalid, the remainder remains in effect.
21.4 No waiver. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.
21.5 Force majeure. We are not liable for delays or failures due to events beyond our reasonable control (e.g., internet outages, power failure, cyber incidents, acts of God, war, or regulation).
